Multiple Instances
Fix AJAX submission conflicts when you display multiple Gravity Forms on the same page.
What it does
When you place more than one Gravity Form with AJAX enabled on the same page, the forms can interfere with each other — submitting the wrong form, showing errors in the wrong place, or getting stuck in an infinite loading state.
This add-on fixes that by replacing each form's ID with a unique random ID at render time. That way, each form instance is treated as its own independent form, so submitting one never triggers another.
There is nothing to configure. Install and activate it, and it works automatically on all your forms.
Key features
- Fixes AJAX conflicts when multiple forms appear on the same page
- Replaces form IDs with unique random IDs at render time
- Preserves the random ID across submissions for the same form session
- Requires zero configuration after activation
- Offers a developer filter (gform_multiple_instances_strings) to customize string replacements
Good for
Written from Nikunj’s own listing. Version and dates come straight from the source and are checked weekly.
Do I need to configure anything after installing?
No. Just install and activate the plugin and it works automatically.
Does this work with AJAX-enabled forms?
Yes, that is exactly the scenario it is designed for — multiple AJAX forms on the same page.
Can I customize which strings get replaced?
Yes. The plugin provides a gform_multiple_instances_strings filter so developers can modify the find-and-replace pairs used during rendering.
What happens if a form has already been submitted?
The same random ID generated for that submission is reused for any follow-up submissions, so continuity is maintained.
