What it does

When you use a Checkbox field in Gravity Forms, there's no built-in way to cap how many options a user can pick or require them to pick a certain number. Limit Checkboxes fills that gap by letting you set a minimum, a maximum, or both on any Checkbox field.

Once a user hits the maximum, the remaining options grey out automatically. If they uncheck a selection, the others become available again. If they submit the form without meeting the minimum, the form blocks submission and tells them how many more they need to choose.

You can also spread one shared limit across several Checkbox fields, as well as Multiple Choice and Image Choice fields, so selections from all of them count toward the same total. It's useful for surveys, event sign-ups, booking slots, and similar situations where you need to control exactly how many items someone picks.

Key features

  • Set a maximum number of checkboxes a user can select
  • Set a minimum number required before the form will submit
  • Use minimum and maximum together or independently
  • Share one limit across multiple Checkbox fields
  • Works with Multiple Choice and Image Choice fields too
  • Remaining options become unavailable in real time once the max is reached
