Every Gravity Forms user eventually gets the same request: “Can you add a mortgage calculator to the site?” Or a BMI calculator, a paint estimator, a tip splitter. Calculation fields can do it, but working out the formulas, the field order and the rounding takes longer than anyone expects.
That’s why I built FormOasis. It’s a library of 77 free, working calculators, and every one of them is a Gravity Forms form. If you like one, you can buy the form itself and import it into your own site in a couple of minutes.
What FormOasis Is
FormOasis has two sides:
- Tools (formoasis.com/tools/): live calculators anyone can use for free. Type in your numbers and the results update as you go. No submit button, no signup.
- Templates (formoasis.com/templates/): the Gravity Forms version of each tool, ready to import into your own WordPress site.
The calculators you try on the site are the same forms you get in the download. What you see working is what you install.
The 77 calculators are grouped into eight categories:
- Money & Loans (19): mortgage, amortization, auto loan, credit card payoff, compound interest, retirement savings and more
- Home & DIY (13): paint, flooring and tile, concrete, mulch and gravel, fence materials, roofing squares, pool volume, AC/BTU sizing
- Health & Fitness (12): BMI, daily calories, macros, water intake, heart-rate zones, running pace
- Math & Convert (8): percentage, percent off, unit converter, ratio, GPA, grades, recipe scaler
- Auto & Travel (7): trip fuel cost, MPG, EV charging cost, tire size comparison, travel budget
- Business (6): freelance hourly rate, profit margin and markup, break-even, ROI, CPM and ad revenue, self-employment tax
- Dates & Time (6): age, days between dates, business days, countdown, hours worked, day of the week
- Life & Planning (6): wedding budget, party food and drink, gift budget, baby costs, pet age, coffee brew ratio
Which Plugins Each Template Needs
This is the part most people ask about first, so here it is up front. Every template needs Gravity Forms. Calculation fields are in core, so any license works. Beyond that, the templates fall into two groups:
- 50 templates work with Gravity Forms alone. Nothing else to buy or install.
- 27 templates need Gravity Forms plus GP Advanced Calculations from Gravity Wiz. It’s part of Gravity Perks and needs Gravity Wiz’s Spellbook plugin active as well.
Why the split? Core calculation fields handle adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing. They can’t do exponents, functions or date math. A loan payment needs an exponent, and anything that counts days needs date math, so those calculators use GP Advanced Calculations formulas. Without it active, those results show 0.
These are the 27 that need GP Advanced Calculations:
- Money: Mortgage, Mortgage affordability, Amortization, Refinance break-even, Rent vs. buy, Personal loan, Auto loan, Credit card payoff, Compound interest, Present & future value, Savings goal, Retirement savings, Inflation, Take-home paycheck estimator, Solar savings, Lease vs. buy, Car depreciation
- Dates: Age, Days between dates, Business days, Countdown, Day of the week finder
- Health: Pregnancy due date, Ovulation, Sleep cycle, Body fat percentage, Running pace
Everything else, including BMI, tip and split, sales tax, paint, concrete, pool volume, ROI, break-even and the wedding budget, runs on Gravity Forms alone. Each template page also lists exactly what it needs under “What you need,” so you’ll know before you buy.
What You Get
Each template comes in two packages:
- Template ($9): the form as an import-ready JSON file, a one-page install guide, and the plugins it needs with links.
- Bundle ($29): everything in Template, plus a step-by-step PDF with a screenshot of every field and formula, and the CSS skin from FormOasis with notes on matching your brand colors.
If you’d rather build it yourself, you can. Every template page has a free, field-by-field build guide with the formulas written out. The template just saves you the typing (the mortgage calculator, for example, is about 33 minutes by hand).
How to Buy a Template
- Find the calculator you want on formoasis.com/tools/ and try it.
- Open its template page and click the buy button. The checkout page opens with that template already selected.
- Choose Template or Bundle, enter your name and email, and pay by card. Checkout runs on Gravity Forms and Stripe.
- Once the payment clears, your download link appears on the confirmation and is emailed with your receipt. The link is tied to your order, so keep the email.
The download is a zip with everything for the package you picked.
How to Install It
- Install the plugins it needs. Gravity Forms for all of them. For the 27 advanced templates, also install and activate Spellbook and GP Advanced Calculations before you import.
- Import the form. Unzip the download, then go to Forms → Import/Export → Import Forms, choose the JSON file and click Import.
- Hide the submit button. The results are live, so there’s nothing to submit. The form carries the CSS class
fo-live-only, and the install guide includes a shortgform_submit_buttonsnippet (or one line of CSS) that hides the button on any form with that class. - Add it to a page. Use the Gravity Forms block, or the shortcode
[gravityform id="X" title="false" ajax="false"]with your new form’s ID. - Style it (optional). Out of the box, the form picks up your theme’s Gravity Forms styling. The Bundle’s stylesheet turns the result fields into the big result panels you see on FormOasis.
Change the default values, labels or descriptions however you like. If you add or remove fields, check the formulas: they reference fields by ID, like {Home price:1}.
Who It’s For
- Agencies and freelancers who keep getting asked for “a quick calculator” on client sites.
- Niche site owners who want an interactive tool that keeps visitors on the page: a pool volume calculator on a pool service site, a concrete calculator on a contractor site, a mortgage calculator for a real estate agent.
- Anyone learning calculation fields who wants to see how a working formula is put together. The free build guides are good for that on their own.
