What it does

Spam and unwanted submissions waste your time and clutter your entries. Blocklist checks every Gravity Forms submission against a list of blocked words, phrases, and IP addresses, and rejects anything that matches before it ever gets saved.

It works off the same Disallowed Comment Keys list WordPress already uses for blog comment spam, so you don't need to build a separate list from scratch. You can apply the blocklist to a single field or across an entire form, depending on how broad you want the filter to be.

When a submission is blocked, the visitor sees an error pointing to the exact field that failed. You can also enable a honeypot mode that silently rejects spam with no error message, giving spammers no clues to work around your filter.

Key features

  • Rejects submissions containing blocked words, phrases, or IP addresses
  • Uses WordPress's existing Disallowed Comment Keys list — no separate setup needed
  • Apply filtering to a single field or the entire form
  • Honeypot mode silently rejects spam without showing an error
  • Flags the exact field that triggered the block so visitors know what to fix
  • Block known spammer IPs or domains to quietly stop repeat offenders

Good for

Do I need to create a new blocklist from scratch?

No. Blocklist uses the Disallowed Comment Keys list already built into WordPress, so any words or IPs you've added there are ready to use immediately.

Can I apply the blocklist to just one field instead of the whole form?

Yes. You can scope it to a single field or apply it form-wide, depending on what you need.

What happens when a submission is blocked?

By default, the visitor sees an error message pointing to the specific field that failed. You can also enable a honeypot mode that silently rejects the submission with no error shown.

Is Blocklist a standalone plugin?

Blocklist is part of the Gravity Perks suite, which includes 48+ Gravity Forms add-ons.
