What it does

When your forms are open to the public, some people send harmful, abusive, or threatening messages. Your team shouldn't have to read that content just to process legitimate submissions. The Moderation Add-On catches those entries before they reach your main entry list.

It uses Google's Perspective API to analyze each submission with machine learning. You choose which attributes to flag—toxicity, insults, profanity, threats, and more—and set a sensitivity threshold from 0 to 1. You can also add a custom word list for terms you always want flagged. Flagged entries are either deleted automatically or held in a separate Toxic Entry Box for review.

This add-on is for any site that accepts open-ended form submissions and wants to protect the people who read them. It works alongside Gravity Forms' other anti-spam tools like Akismet, reCAPTCHA, and Cloudflare Turnstile.

How does it detect toxic content?

It sends each submission to Google's Perspective API, which uses machine learning to score the content across attributes like toxicity, insults, profanity, and threats.

What happens to a flagged submission?

You choose: it can be deleted immediately or moved to a dedicated Toxic Entry Box in your WordPress dashboard, keeping it out of the main entry list.

Can I customize what gets flagged?

Yes. You pick which toxicity attributes to check, set your own sensitivity threshold, and add a custom word list for terms you always want flagged.

What license do I need?

The Moderation Add-On is included with a Gravity Forms Elite or Nonprofit license.
