Gravity Forms Square Add-On Review: Features, Pricing & Verdict

The official Square Add-On: payments, subscriptions and refunds, and why it’s a great fit if your business already uses Square.

Chris Eggleston 2 min read

The Square Add-On is the official Gravity Forms integration for Square. If your business already uses Square in person, it lets your online forms feed into the same account, reports and payouts.

What It Does

Connect your Square account under Forms → Settings → Square, then add a Square feed to your form. The form shows a secure card field from Square, and payments land in your Square dashboard next to your in-person sales.

  • One-time payments for orders, deposits, fees and donations.
  • Authorize and capture later, for bookings or orders you want to confirm first.
  • Subscriptions for recurring payments.
  • Refunds from the entry in your WordPress dashboard.

The Pros

  • One account for everything. If you sell in person with Square, online form payments show up in the same reports.
  • Simple setup. Connecting your account takes a couple of minutes.
  • Official support from the Gravity Forms team.

The Cons

  • Needs a Pro, Elite or Nonprofit license.
  • Square is only available in some countries, so check that your business is eligible.
  • Fewer payment methods and developer options than the Stripe Add-On.

Use Cases That Work

  • Restaurants, retail shops and service businesses that already use Square
  • Deposits and booking fees
  • Local events and classes

Pricing

LicensePriceSquare Add-On
Basic$59/yearNot included
Pro$159/yearIncluded
Elite$259/yearIncluded

Square charges its own processing fees. Check the Gravity Forms pricing page for current prices.

Who Should Use It

  • ✅ Businesses that already take payments with Square
  • ✅ Anyone who wants online and in-person sales in one place
  • ❌ Businesses outside Square’s supported countries
  • ❌ Sites that need the widest choice of payment methods (look at Stripe)

The Verdict

If you already use Square, this is an easy choice: your online payments and in-person sales stay together. If you’re starting fresh with no existing processor, I’d usually start with Stripe for its payment methods and flexibility.
